Not only is it healthier, but my homemade ranch dressing recipe is also easy and delicious. In fact, my daughter prefers it to the bottled ranch!

Have you ever read the ingredients on a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing? I used to buy it because Celia loved dipping vegetables in it, but when I realized there were 21 ingredients in it including MSG and many others that sounded like they were developed in a chemistry lab rather than produced on a farm in a valley, I created my own healthy recipe.
Celia likes this version even more than the bottled ranch dressing I used to buy. Here’s the homemade ranch dressing recipe we love so much:
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp. sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp. reduced-fat buttermilk
- 1 tsp. white wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. fresh chives, minced
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. dried dill
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
Instructions:
In a serving bowl or jar, whisk the sour cream through black pepper together with a fork. Serve with fresh vegetables and store any leftovers in a jar for up to 3 days.
