I remember that when I was a teenager and young adult, there was so much build-up to New Year’s Eve and a lot of (self-imposed) pressure about making it a really special night.
Maybe it’s age, maturity, or just comfort with where I am in life, but that pressure has essentially vanished. I’ve become very content with the idea of gathering with a few close friends or family and having a nice dinner and some good cocktails or wine.
Of course, the most important element of a New Year’s Eve gathering is the people you’re surrounded by but we also love to share great food as we bid farewell to one year and welcome the next.
