Last weekend on the bleachers of our daughter’s basketball game, my friend Jenny Lim mentioned that her family had recently started meditating for a few minutes.  They dim the lights and sit still, focusing on their breathing, for 5 or 10 minutes until they feel calmer and more focused.

Mumbai Meatballs with Dipping Sauce

Whether you eat these meatballs as dinner or serve them as an appetizer, they’re sure to make your taste buds smile.

Marinating and Other Cooking Tips for Working Parents

My friend Sharon, a lawyer who works outside the home and a wonderful cook, swears by marinating.  She and her husband, Mark, find it pays to take ten minutes after the kids go to bed to prepare the next night’s dinner, so there is less to do when they get home from work.

Let Me Convert You from Meat: Crispy Tofu Triangles with Fried Rice

This is the kind of recipe that makes tofu a food I’m not afraid to prepare for meat-lovin’ folks. These crispy tofu triangles with fried rice are nutritionally packed and full of flavor.

Prep + Cook = 30 minutes

Makes 6 servings

I served this meal to vegetarians and Midwestern steak eaters (even an avowed tofu-hater from Texas), and all agreed it was delicious. You can use the same recipe for chicken tenderloins or breasts (or even steak!), if you are adamantly opposed to tofu.  Serve it
